Hi, my name is Jac and I am currently studying my GCSE's at King's Lynn Academy. I have recently completed my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award and I am currently working towards my Silver award which I will complete in June 2025. I have been looking for a new challenge, and I have been given an opportunity to travel to Costa Rica in July 2026.
I will be working with Camps International to support in the building of permanent resources for local schools and families in Latin America's ,Costa Rica. Working with local organisations and a fantastically diverse team of passionate people to assist them to implement various developing environmental projects, such as reforestation programmes aimed at growing native plants to reforest the Amazon rainforest.
Through my trip and the money I raise I hope to help shape a small portion of the world and in doing so tackle some of the world's most critical global issues and protect the future of our planet for our generation and generations to come.
The 4 week expedition to Costa Rica will see me working and helping to develop infrastructure, including projects such as building kitchens and dining rooms in local schools, building toilets, installing a clean water supply for an entire village and working on environmental projects like cleaning beaches to recycle plastic waste into eco-friendly building materials which in turn will help to protect turtle nesting sites, planting food trees for indigenous animals and so much more.
So please help me try to make a difference. I fully understand in these tough times currently in the UK, any amount you are able to donate will support this life changing opportunity and experience for me and any donations will be gratefully appreciated. Keep a watch out for my updates of my fundraising activities and journey to Costa Rica.
