The meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose of life is to give it away.
Dear Friends and Family-
Griffin here for Rumi, we have started this campaign as a fund to assist in covering expenses to get Rumi home. At the end of April, he was hospitalized with Covid and released to rehab in the East Bay near his home. Last week a bout of bronchittis kept him down, but this week we start getting him moving. He has been bed-ridden for over six months, so the hill to climb is large, but he can do it. Ru has roommates for the first time in 17 years and currently has no wi-fi, so every inch of inspiration is to get him home, but he has to be able to get out of bed and walk some on his own.
He has bills that are not covered by his insurance, such as the ambulance bill and other co-pays. We are ordering items for the house, such as a commode, wipes, cannulas and other items he is using in Rehab. We also have some boxes of archives we are trying to get shipped to the LGBT-National Archive in NYC.
Rumi says, "Griffin continues to be my 'Florence Nightingale,' checking my mail, attending to bills and bringing care packages of supplies." Indeed gas is expensive right now, and with Rumi in hospitals, I'm not on the payroll. As we head into month number two, it would make caring for him a little easier. Any excess over our goal will carry over until we get him home.
Blessed Be-
Rumi & Griffin
