I am a second year student at University of California, Davis and have recently been accepted to the EDventure International program in Costa Rica, however, I need your help to get me there.
EDventure International is a company that gives students around the world an opportunity to teach, lead and become immersed in diverse cultures around the world while making significant changes in the community.
On this program, I will be volunteering at a sea turtle hatchery on the Costa Rican coast. I am fascinated by marine life and I hope that this opportunity will give me useful experiences for a career in marine science. During this program, I get to work hands on with wildlife researchers as we care for endangered sea turtles species like leatherbacks, which are the largest species in the world. You can see examples of my obsession with this particular species with the life-size sand sculpture below. This species, as well as others, are at a high risk of extinction due to hunting, loss of habitat and illegal pet trade. I am so excited to help with night patrols where we look for nesting sea turtles and get to rescue them from the hands of poachers. I cannot wait to see them crawl out of their shells and watch the army of baby sea turtles crawl to the sea where they can grow up to seven feet in length!
I would greatly appreciate any financial sponsorship you could provide for my EDventure Program. The overall cost for the 3 week program is $3500. This includes my flight, accommodation, meals, project resources, transportation within Costa Rica, along with financial support for the community in which I will be volunteering. Even a minimal donation or sponsorship will help me toward this incredible opportunity.
I am ecstatic about this rare opportunity and would appreciate any support you have to offer.
