Short Summary UPDATED (March 5th, 2026)

My name is Amber, and I am raising funds to help my love, Daniel Marquez Silva, get back on his feet after almost three months of UNLAWFUL ICE detainment.

By God's grace after countless hours, days and weeks of finding an affordable lawyer, along with raising money... We were able to have a habeas corpus filed. By this point Daniel had already been in unlawful detainment for about two months. Within a few weeks of being filed a Federal Judge ordered Daniels immediate release.

Despite everything Daniel has continued to place his trust in God—his faith carried him through separation, uncertainty, and hardship.

While this is a huge answer to prayer, the time he spent in detention has left him behind on rent and other essential living expenses. After being unable to work for almost three months, he is now working to rebuild stability and get back on his feet.

This fundraiser is now helping Daniel recover from that period of detention—catching up on rent, paying essential bills, and regaining stability as he continues his legal process. Any support, whether through donation or simply sharing this page, is deeply appreciated and means more than words can express.

Summary of Daniels Story:

Daniel is a legally present asylum seeker from Venezuela who has lived and worked in the U.S. since 2021. After a routine traffic stop—later dismissed—he was taken into ICE custody and remains detained while awaiting a bond hearing.

Daniel is a hardworking, kind, and deeply faithful Christian man. Even in detention, he spends his evenings reading the Bible and attending the church services inside the facility. His faith is what sustains him as he waits to come home.

Your support helps cover legal costs, medical care, and basic living needs—giving Daniel a real chance at freedom while he continues his asylum case.

Full Initial Story

Daniel is not a criminal or a flight risk. He is a son, brother, uncle, and loving partner. He is known for his generosity, humility, and steady presence—someone who helps quietly and gives without being asked.

Since arriving in the U.S. in 2021, Daniel has followed the legal process, worked hard in hospitality and as a mechanic, and built a simple, honest life. This past year, he has been a source of strength for me through multiple family losses and has helped support his mother as she battles cancer.

On December 15, Daniel was pulled over while driving home in Miami. The traffic matter was dismissed, yet he was taken into ICE custody and remains detained.

Detention has separated Daniel from his family, his work, and his ability to care for those who depend on him. Despite this, he continues to hold onto his faith—reading Scripture and attending church inside detention each night, praying for strength, peace, and the chance to return home.

Daniel is fully committed to continuing his asylum case and attending all future hearings while free. Being released would allow him to work, support his family, and live with dignity while following every legal requirement.
