Hi, I’m fundraising to help my nephew Legend and his family as they go through this unfortunate time.
Legend was diagnosed with covid June 9th. After numerous doctors and ER visits his liver enzymes were very high and he lost 15% of his body weight. The doctors on Kauai decided sending him to Kapiolani Childrens hospital was a better option. (That was on July 8th, 2 days before his 3rd birthday). There they found out he had pneumonia in his lungs. He was also getting continuous fevers once every night. The doctors at Kapiolani have done test after test to determine exactly what is causing the pneumonia and fevers, with no answers. June 14th he needed to be put on oxygen, they have been increasing oxygen since and Legend was admitted to the P-ICU at Kapiolani June 19th for better monitoring and more oxygen. His fevers are getting worse. His left lung is almost completely full of pneumonia and right lung started to collapse. He underwent emergency surgery to help his collapse lung on June 20th. He is now in an induced coma and on a ventilator. Doctors still don’t know the cause of pneumonia or fever. They are rushing tests but need to know exactly what they are treating as certain medications can be more harmful than helpful.
The funds will be used to help with Medical expenses and to help out Jeremy and Debra Rocha with any home expenses for time out from work to be there for Legend.
