Get Up & Dance January 2025!

Hi, I’m Grace, some of you know me as ‘Joy in Dance’. I started ‘Get Up & Dance’ 5 years ago in lockdown to encourage people to dance for 5 minutes a day, and see the difference this can make to health, wellbeing and resourcing oneself during uncertain times.

At 8:45am every weekday morning, I go live on my Facebook page, play one track and teach simple to follow moves designed to raise heart rates and joy levels!

I’ve always offered this for FREE as a community resource (giving people the option to donate if they wish) The videos are then available to watch back anytime you need a shake-out or a mood-boost.

The feedback is always so positive with people saying how much the daily dances help lift their spirits in January, which can be a tricky time of year for many.

I’m super keen to run GU&D again in 2025 (beginning Monday 6th Jan) but in order to continue this lovely projects that benefits many, I need to be able to resource myself and in part that means getting paid.

I shared a video on my Facebook and was so touched by people response and enthusiasm and this has led me to start this funding page.

Raising £2000 would enable me to pay myself living wage for the duration of January to run the project. Any additional money raised would go towards securing funding to run the project in the future and keep it FREE for all to access.

Hundreds of thousands of people have watched my online videos & I know that the benefits of daily dance are many. I think we need these moments of joy and connection more than ever.
