Edinburgh Tram 226 is the only surviving double-deck cable tram in the world (as far as we know!). This splendid survivor was built in 1903 to be cable hauled and was rebuilt as an electric car in the 1920s before becoming a holiday home in 1938. Rescued for preservation in the 1980s it is being painstakingly restored to its 1903 condition at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum by the 226 Trust.
