Get the Sharp family home for Christmas!

Hi, my name is Jason and I created this GoFundMe on behalf of the Sharp family, who would never ask for help on their own, but could use the generosity of strangers this Christmas. The Sharps have been my friends and neighbors for the last several years and our families have become very close. They’ve recently fallen on hard times, and I am trying to raise enough to keep them from being homeless on Christmas.

The Sharp family includes: Ryhan, her son Matthew, her 21 year old daughter Becca, who is autistic and works a full time job at Walmart, and her father George. Up until August, Ryhan, Becca, and George had been working together to pay the rent. Unfortunately, George, has become increasingly ill, and in August he needed to move into an assisted living facility to get the care that he needs. Around the same time, Ryhan lost her job. She is working again, but not able to work as much due to family, and between paying for assisted living and trying to catch up from the time that she was unemployed, she and Becca have been unable to pay the rent and they were evicted last week.

The Sharps are currently living in a motel, and keeping their belongings in a storage unit. They can afford the rent of a smaller house now that George is in the assisted living home, but they need help coming up with the deposit for a new place. They have also applied for public housing, however the wait list is 2 years long.

Ryhan’s son Matthew is only 10 years old, he has never known his father, who Ryhan has been unable to reach despite her best efforts. Matthew loves his school and friends and Ryhan is trying to find a place in the same school district to provide him with the stability he needs to finish 4th grade.

Any amount collected in this GoFundMe will go directly toward a deposit and first month’s rent at a new home for the Sharp family. Please help me help them get a stable home for Christmas.
