Get Sham's family out of Gaza and rebuild her Life

*** UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TEXT ***

I am sharing this as a friend of Sham's family and collecting the fund for them. The family writes:

"Sham is a wonderful, kind-hearted child who loves life. She enjoys drawing and dancing, radiating an energy that makes you love her unintentionally.
Sham's mother, a physical therapist, lost her job due to the war, and her father also lost his job, along with all of his dreams.

I am writing to seek urgent assistance for the family of Sham in Gaza. The ongoing conflict has severely impacted our lives, leaving us in a state of extreme vulnerability and desperation.

On the 7th of October, as Sham was getting ready for school, we suddenly heard the deafening sounds of multiple rockets. In an instant, our lives changed drastically. This war has brought unimaginable hardship upon us, inflicting both mental and physical trauma. We were once a hopeful and vibrant family, but now we've lost everything – safety, comfort, and even our beloved home, which we built with love, now rendered uninhabitable. The destruction of Sham's school deeply saddened her.
The war on Gaza has unleashed psychological torment; the sounds of rockets and deafening explosions have deeply affected us all. Witnessing the fear in the eyes of my children has been heart-wrenching.

Three days into the conflict, we were instructed to evacuate our home, seeking refuge in the safer zone within the territory. We experienced the horror of a neighboring house being bombed, compelling us to flee in the early hours, running from sheer terror. The fear of that day still haunts me.
After four days, we were forced to move further south. We spent over a month and a half there, but as danger encroached upon us, we witnessed shells falling perilously close.
Subsequently, the military ordered us to vacate the shelter that housed us for the third time. For an extended period, we have been sleeping in a tent, enduring the biting cold, uncertain of our situation's duration.
We implore you to assist us in rebuilding Sham's shattered life, to reclaim a semblance of her previous existence and to revive a portion of her childhood.

(Sham's School, depicted in this image, was completely destroyed, and a massacre occurred resulting in a significant number of casualties.)

(In the other image, the destroyed house has become uninhabitable. They lost everything, even their memories.)

Both of Sham's aunt are in their sixth and seventh months of pregnancy, while Sham's grandmother is struggling with heart and blood pressure issues. Additionally, Gaza is facing a shortage of medical equipment and medication, and there's a lack of care and attention towards patients and pregnant women, unfortunately

Any form of aid or support you can offer would mean the world to us in these dire circumstances. We appeal to your kindness and humanity during this tumultuous period.
The only way to save sham's family from this madness and from this genocide is by evacuating them, and the only way to evacuate them is through the Rafah border, which costs ,
8000 dollars per person!
The cost of a permit for adults is 8000$ and for children it is 4000$. There are 12 adults and 4 children in her family. In addition, there is a border crossing fee of 1,300$ per person. Therefore, they would need about 95,000 $ to enable all of her family members to flee from the war in Gaza. **since the latest update we are now trying to collect 35 000$ to evacuate at least sham, her brother, her parents and her elderly grandparents**

Thank you for your consideration and assistance."

95 000$ (**35 000$ since the last update**) is a high goal. It is that high because the Egyptian authorities are demanding high fees for people without a foreign passport to cross the border. The full amount would allow the whole family to go.

As soon as there is enough collected for a part of the family to leave, the money will be directly transferred to Egypt.

The family members that we collect for are:

Sham Moharram (7 years old )
Sham's father (33 years old )
Sham's mother (31 years old )
Sham's brother (3 years old)
Sham's grandfather (70 years old)
Sham's grandmother (60 years old)

(** before the latest statement the collection was also including:
Sham's aunt (29 years old) and her daughter (5 years old)
Sham's uncle (38 years old)
Sham's grandfather (60 years old)
Sham's grandmother (59 years old)
Sham's Uncle (35 years old), his wife (30 years old) and their son (4 years old )
Sham's aunt (29 years old ) and her husband (30 years old )

**)

*** UPDATE ***

We want to say thank you to all the people that donated to and shared this campaign. A lot of money was collected. Still, reaching a sum big enough to able to pay the fee to cross the border seems out of reach at the moment.

So what happens to the money if the original goal is not reached?

Sham and her family suffered a lot in the ongoing war. They are currently living in tents in Rafah in the south. Their homes and a lot of their belongings were destroyed. If leaving from Gaza is not possible, the money can be used to rebuild their home.

This photo shows the destroyed flat of Sham's grandparents (upper floor). The flat where Sham lives with her brother and her parents als also destroyed but there are no picutres available right now.

Since the situation is ongoing and its outcome unclear, we don't know exactly when we will be able to send them the money and what exactly it will be used for. We will make sure that it eventually reaches them in a safe way and that it will be used for the good of the family. Updates will be sent to all contributors and posted on this site.
