Shaftesbury Town Silver Band has achieved something truly special — for the first time in our history, we have qualified for the National Finals 2026 in York.

This is a huge milestone for our band. Year after year, our dedicated group of musicians has worked tirelessly to improve, rehearse, and perform at the highest level we can. From local performances to regional contests, we’ve steadily grown stronger, more confident, and more ambitious — and now, that hard work has paid off.

Reaching the National Finals is not just an honour, it’s an incredible opportunity. It gives us the chance to represent our town on a national stage, showcase our musical talents, and be part of something truly unforgettable. For many of our members, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

However, getting to York comes with significant costs. Travel, accommodation, and other essential expenses quickly add up, and as a community band, we rely heavily on support from others to make opportunities like this possible.
