Hi, I am Dawn and I am raising some money to try and fix the car my Dad left to me when he passed. I want to gift the car to my sister Ruth, as she is learning to drive. We both know that cars don’t last forever, but this is a sentimental hunk of metal as it was our only inheritance from Dad.

If we can get it back on the road it would mean so much for Ruth to have this as her first car. If that is not possible to fix, then I would like to gift her some money towards buying her first car.

A year ago Ruth moved to Yorkshire, and despite some ongoing personal problems she has began a career helping young disabled people learn skills to get into (or back into) work. Currently she is having to rely on lifts to get to and from work.

She has been learning to drive, and as yet doesn’t have a car or the funds to buy one.

The car my dad left to me when he passed (a cute silver VW Beetle) flew through its last MOT nearly a year ago, yet it is currently having some problems starting. I would like to get it started, fix the problem and put it through an MOT. If I cannot get it started then I would like to help her to buy a first car that is safe to drive and cheap to run.

If you know Ruth then you will understand why I am so incredibly proud and blessed to have her as a sister, and you will also know just how much she deserves to have this car (or the £ for a different first car).

So please, if you can afford even a quid, it will be going to the worthy cause of getting a very caring, generous and hard working young woman on the road for the first time!
