Get Owen to Camp
Donation protected
My cousin’s family had everything in place to send their son, Owen, to camp this summer until their water-main cracked a leak and their beloved family dog was diagnosed with cancer. Now the money they had saved for camp is needed to help care for their dog, Freya, and to fix the leak.
The camp that Owen wants to attend is called Camp Alsing and is located in Maine. It is a non-traditional camp for kids who struggle with social communication, executive functioning and anxiety, and are less likely to succeed at a traditional summer camp. At Alsing they can enjoy a traditional summer camp experience, while also practice important social skills. Low camper to counselor ratios, structured activities, and specialized programs make the camp an ideal fit.
This year Owen is old enough to participate in a leadership program at Alsing, learning to support and mentor younger campers while also practicing the skills needed to succeed in college and adulthood. Since he will be a high school senior this fall, camp this summer will have a big impact on his life after high school.
Please consider making a donation to help offset the cost of this amazing but expensive camp. Even a small contribution would help. Y'all know Owen is near and dear to my heart and I think this is an important cause. Thank you in advance
