Get homeless family into motel

I went shopping at the Trader Joe's in Hollywood late Friday night and saw a homeless woman with 3 of her children, one being a 6 month old still nursing, a 6 year old and a 7 year old. The lady said she worked for the Unified school district and got laid off and isn't from here so does not have any friends or family to help out. She said last night was her 2nd night out on the street with her kids, and that she had already tried going to several shelters but they all turned her away from being over-crowded. She was begging for money and said she was only able to make $30 which wasn't enough for a hotel room. I gave her my jacket and bought her kids some food and took her cell number which I don't even know if I'm able to reach her but told her to meet me at the same spot today at noon so I could try to pull together some resources for her. Does anyone  know of any organizations or shelters for mothers with kids? I know if she doesn't get help or a roof over her head eventually her kids will be taken away from her which breaks my heart. Specially the baby...I know the kids will just get caught up in the system and probably separated from each-other. I'm trying to get the family into a cheap motel over the weekend until I can take them into a shelter on Monday since most shelters don't do intakes over the weekend.  Thanks in advance
