Get Freya Jo a Service Dog

Hello! My name is Darcy and I’m Freya’s mama. Freya has a very long story despite being only three years old! She has a rare genetic mutation and is diagnosed with several challenging diagnoses, including Dysautonomia (dysfunction of her autonomic nervous system) and Paroxysmal Nonkinesigenic Dyskinesia (PNKD) which is an extremely rare movement disorder that causes seizure-like episodes, shaking, staring spells, loss of balance, loss of coordination, trouble speaking, and other movement episodes.

 

We are fundraising to provide Freya with a service dog, who will be able to alert to ber episodes, assist her when she struggles with mobility, protect her from falling, help regulate her behavior, alert to highs and lows in vitals, and fulfill any other needs she has as she grows.

 

We will be purchasing a puppy and working with a trainer in a collaborative process that will be ongoing as the puppy grows and bonds with Freya and we teach the dog tasks that Freya needs. Service dogs can cost upwards of $25,000 and so fundraising is the only way we will be able to provide this for her. We would appreciate any support, including donations and shares.
