Get Diamond to the Church on Time!

Howdy folks. My name is Diamond, and I'm trying to get to a very good friend's wedding October 19th. I can't do it without help, and I need to do it.

S & Me

Let me tell you the story of how we got here. S and have worked for a lot of organizations together, including at a locked mental health facility, volunteering for North Star Quest Camp, and for the Kinetic Grand Championship. She is a truly fantastic human who deserves the whole world; for quite some time, she didn't have it.

Not long after the pandemic shutdowns, she figured out some things that were unhealthy about her relationship and the region we lived in, and she took off to the East Coast. It's been a long road for her, but she's extremely happy, has a loving community, and has an incredible partner, Q.

I got married in 2021 and S flew back to the West Coast to stand with me as part of my A-Team. I was overjoyed to have her there. Now that she is getting married, she's asked me to do the same for her.

Present Circumstances

I currently live in Argentina and am working a frankly shit job at shit wages. I'm earning only enough to cover our needs, but not enough to do something like travel back to the states. Additionally, we've been having a huge struggle with Argentine customs, and it's going to be an unknown amount of money to receive our items that have been in a warehouse for over a year. I cannot successfully both complete our transition to Argentina AND purchase plane tickets at my current wage.

6 months out is about the sweet spot for getting good prices on tickets, so to get something that's around $2000 for a round trip needs to happen ASAP. But I can't do this part alone. I need help.

Any funding received will be used for travel expenses. My spouse would like to come to the wedding as well (they love S also) but me attending is the priority.

Cost Breakdown:

$1,000 - Diamond's airfare

$1,000 - Ruby's airfare or other travel purchases such as a place to sleep

Any additional money will go towards travel expenses or paying someone to care for our cats while we are gone.

Why should you help me?

Part of the reason I am so broke is that I work in a helping profession and I have a chronic health condition that is disabling. My spouse and I moved to Argentina primarily for a better cost of living, which is why I'm even able to afford to keep an apartment at these wages. I have spent my entire life - from age 14 to 40 - engaged in helping other people. I have done so exceptionally well, and to my own detriment. I am asking you to be a little good karma. I think I've earned it.

Helping professions are necessary but man, they just don't pay. That said, I'd be happy to do some work for you in exchange for a donation! I can do federal disability, retirement, and other SSA programs at a high success rate. I can help you figure out all sorts of things, including general problem solving or life coaching, navigating healthcare and insurance, and application processes for benefits.
