7/5/23 Update:
I have no idea where to start. Recently found out that CPS never interviewed Charlotte’s father after the December 29th pickup following her ten day stay in hell during which she sustained over 40 injuries including blunt force trauma, a bite to her face, a weight loss of more than 10% of her body weight, and a raging fever.
My sister’s attorney has updated her amount due for trial fees.
$104,034.87
Y’all. She’s not done fighting. We’re not done fighting. But she also has to be able to live in order to do so. She has three children to feed and a farm to run.
Charlotte’s abusers are on social media posting about how they “love the life they’ve fought so hard for”.. the life that has included abusing my niece. Repeatedly. But just this side of a DA willing to prosecute.
We’re not quitting on Charlotte. Please, please, help her. Help us.
6/21/23 Update:
The DA Steven Reis refused to prosecute child abuse, and that was the deciding point for the jury. Forensic nurse testified it was abuse, therapists testified it was abuse.
My niece, Charlotte, is going to continue to live in Sargent with her abusers.
My sister hands her back over tomorrow at 1800
and will get to see her the first weekend of August.
And every other weekend after that.
Alternating holidays.
Six weeks. She’s about to be with her abusers unprotected for six weeks. Please pray. Pray harder than you ever have. Two weeks in between visitations have resulted in injuries every time. Injuries have escalated. I’m so scared for my honey.
Please share. We need help.
$138k current attorney fees
$16k therapist fees
$60k previous attorney fees
5/5/23 Update:
Thank you all so much! Please continue sharing! Trial is June 12-23rd, and we expecting about $6k/day for each day we are in trial and prep costs are growing by the minute… we’re far from over this fight. Anything helps. If everyone who saw this donated even $5-10 we could meet the goal. Kaitlan has two other children who miss their sister. Please help us get her home.

Hi, my name is Reghan, and I am raising money to support my sister Kaitlan in getting full custody of her daughter Charlotte to ensure Charlotte is always in a safe and loving home.
On November 10, 2018 at 9:46 a.m. I had the honor of watching my niece Charlotte Elizabeth make her way into the world.
Charlotte is a funny, bright, happy, busy little girl who loves animals, dinosaurs, her mommy, her bubba, her baby brother, her sweetie (Kaitlan’s fiancé), her Rae Rae’s boys (my husband and sons), and singing.
Since the day she was born in 2018 she has been at the heart of a custody battle between my sister and her ex. Over the years, each exchange has included inexplicable bruises, bumps, and illnesses, some requiring hospitalization, when my sister picks her up, stories of how she’s being hurt, and screaming and begging when my sister has to drop her off.
Due to the case currently slated to go to jury trial in June, I cannot post pictures of what Charlotte looks like after returning from a visitation. I can, however, share that two expert witnesses testified to abuse at the temporary orders hearing in April 2023.
My honey girl doesn’t understand what’s happening, and it breaks my heart.
Unfortunately, court, psychologist appointments, and therapy sessions aren’t free, and my sister has spent a massive amount of money fighting to secure the safety of her daughter:
▪️10s of thousands to date in legal fees
▪️$15,000 in therapy
▪️Thousands in hotels, travel, fuel to facilitate these ordered visitations, more in time, resources, time away from work in hospital visits, doctor’s appointments, and weekly therapy
We’re anticipating another $60-90k through the end of this jury trial.
Anything helps honey come home where she’s safe, and if there is anything remaining will go to supporting other families who have not had the ability to fight even as long as we have to protect their little ones.
