Hear me out - I know this sounds crazy, but I’m trying to buy a Black Lotus for our community!

I have been a strong advocate of eternal formats (in MtG) within the greater Metro Detroit region for a long time. I’ve spent over a decade building out a collection with my own money, tournament winnings, and buying friends’ collections (where I can) if they ever liquidate. I lend multiple Legacy decks for most large events, which I keep up to date and optimized, to the high-trust players in the community so they can compete.

As of the last two years, a number of players in the local community have been gaining interest in Vintage (as many large Legacy events such as Eternal Weekend host Vintage as well). Last year, I was able to loan out the majority of a Vintage deck. Over the past few years, I’ve been able to trade and buy the last few pieces of power to loan out the majority of Vintage deck configurations. Now we need just one more to complete the set: the beloved Black Lotus.

Although damaged cards are typically not playable, we don’t need anything fancy. I should be able to subsidize the rest if we get most of the way there, and we are trying to collectively match what we can, but it would be awesome to get even the cheapest playable Black Lotus. We’ll post the black lotus we get and will update the first few it’s played in!
