GEORGIA STATE OF MIND PROJECT: Georgia State of Mind video: https://youtu.be/af8Yo41yr_Y This project was started in order to educate Georgian voters and get them out to vote in a crucial Senate race that will inevitably effect the entire country. I personally, for the first time in my life, volunteered for the democratic party as I felt we as a country were at a crossroad. We can become the great country I grew up believing in as a biracial child, one in which we are defined as being Americans and not by our color, race or religion. That America is a country where dreams are born and accomplished. Georgia State of Mind, came together because a good friend of mine strongly urged me to record the great classic “Georgia” with a talented and socially conscious rapper friend of mine Mickey Factz. Timing was everything as Georgians had to re-register to vote for the Senate races and many were unaware of this fact. I called on favors from some of my most talented friends: Aaron Comess – Grammy winner and drummer for The Spin Doctors Dave O’Donnell – two time grammmy nominee for 2020 Ben Stivers – worked with Matchbox Twenty, Lyle Lovett, Ricky Martin among others Greg Calbi – Grammy award winning mastering engineer Roman Klun – Grammy award winning engineer Jon Bleicher – Publicist to Elvis Costello, Joss Stone, The Grateful Dead, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds among others Bob Laul -Radio promoter for Jesse Malin, Jeff Beck, Foo Fighters, Citizen Cope, The Rolling Stones among others Our goal was to create a track that spoke to the key demographic of Georgia, but that would also appeal to all age groups. We managed to be artistic but touch on the key issues and have links to help viewers register. Our hope is that after December 7th and people have registered that viewers will continue to understand that urgency and importance of voting blue across the board. We are in a time when we can no longer be silent. This project took a few dollars to get off the ground and will continue to need funding to stay on radio and be broadcast from other outlets. Please help us use music to get the message across. This was the only way I knew how to help.
