Hi, my name is George, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.
On Tuesday, June 3rd, around 11 a.m., my mom was found unresponsive at home. My wife immediately called 911 and began CPR until paramedics arrived. Since then, my mom has been in the hospital under medical sedation.
Today, we received news that the sedation has been lifted. Later in the afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., doctors told me and my cousin—who was with me at the time—that my mom has suffered brain damage. We’re still waiting to learn more, and the next steps will be shared with us tomorrow.
I’ve never felt so lost. I’m creating this fundraiser because I truly don’t know what else to do. We’re facing emotional and financial challenges I never imagined, and I’m reaching out for any help you can give—whether that’s a donation or simply a prayer.
I want to thank my family and everyone who’s shown love and support during this time. It means more than I can express.
I’ll continue to share updates here after I visit my mom at the hospital tomorrow. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Update – Friday, June 6th
Today, we said goodbye to my mom.
The doctors gave us options for continuing care, but it became clear that she would remain in a coma and would require a tracheostomy and a feeding tube to survive. As much as my heart wanted to hold on to her, I know deep down that this is not the life she would have wanted.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible medical team who cared for my mom with such compassion and did everything they could to keep her comfortable.
After many tears and heartfelt conversations, our family—myself, my wife, her husband, and the rest of our aunts and cousins—came together and made the decision to donate her organs. Through this, my mom will continue to live on by giving others the gift of life and a second chance.
Thank you all for your continued support, love, and prayers. They’ve meant more to us than words can express.
