Dublin City Lido, George's Dock- New Design Needed

The Dublin City Lido, George's Dock, Campaign needs your help to fundraise for a NEW REALISTIC DESIGN. Steady progress is being made to provide Dubliners with a beautiful inclusive public swimming facility and green space at George's Dock.

In 2023 the campaign presented their conceptual plans and images to Dublin City Councillors. These amazing images would have been impossible without your kind donations. The councillors were very enthusiastic about our plans for an inclusive swimming facility and green space, and the view was that proposal should be advanced.

We then held a productive meeting with Dublin City managers and they gave comprehensive feedback highlighting some perceived problems. Our plans were still very much at a conceptual phase and they concluded that in order for them to engage any further with the proposal a more rigorous feasibility and design process would be required.

We believe Dublin deserves an ambitious inclusive amenity at George's Dock. We also believe a Lido is an entirely realistic and achievable goal. So WE ARE TAKING THE CAMPAIGN TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

We have engaged an experienced consultant and are in the process of completing an EXPERT FEASABILITY STUDY. When this is completed we will have a realistic idea of the specific design and features at Dublin City Lido which will satisfy planning requirements and be economically and operationally viable.

This is where we need your help again. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, so without a NEW REALISTIC DESIGN that reflects the recommendations of our feasibility study it will be very difficult to convince politicians and city managers to make this project happen.
