Due to the age of the building, repairs cannot be carried out unless they also bring the plumbing up to modern codes - and all the quotes we've received are around 20k.
To add some more unwanted difficulty, the Landlord is responsible for Repairs... but not Upgrades. Given this issue is a little of both, they are unwilling to commit to such an expense.
And so, I ask you, our beloved and toilet-less community - can you spend a penny ?
We'll be using these funds to return our large bathroom to 4 functioning stalls (all with privacy doors), replace the taps, repair the hand dryers, install a second stall in the smaller bathroom and install proper exhaust fans.
It doesn't sound like a lot when listed like this, but there is a bunch of waterlines, concrete drilling and replacing of pipes to happen as well.
In the event of us receiving more than we need for the repairs, we'll use every penny improving the bathrooms. I'd love to change the entrance so it's more discrete, the 70's wallpaper could go - we'll even make sure there is triple-ply for everyone!
Thanks for taking the time to read this :)
