Public services and queer NGOs in NYC have gotten me the gender affirming care I've needed my whole life. I'm thankful to Callen Lorde, despite everything. Through their labyrinth I've figured out how to get the majority of this radical breast reduction covered via Medicaid. There is an estimated $3-4k I will still be on the hook for, due to unknown shenanigans of this shameful discriminatory medical system. Additionally, I currently work retail and will be unable to work for 4-6 weeks while I recover. I have already received a $3k donation from my beautiful mother! But It's been a hard couple of years financially recovering from my domestic partnership breakup and loss of income at the hands of small business tyrants.
