As the poorest nation in the western hemisphere, Haiti deals with water scarcity and extreme poverty conditions on a daily basis.  World Bank estimates that around 78% of the Haitian population lives on less than $2 per day.  While at the same time The Center for Human Rights and Global Justice reported, "only 55.2 percent of the population has access to an improved water source, while close to 70 percent does not have direct access to potable water. "

Because of this, waterborne illnesses, such as typhoid, cholera and diarrhea cause more than half of the deaths in the country annually.

Gen1 Project's Mission is to empower the next generation with clean water initiatives, humanitarian aid, micro-finance projects and various other advocacy programs which create and sustain life in developing nations.

TRUCK #1:
The first truck will carry a new water well drilling setup, which is currently being custom built for our specific needs in Haiti.  This truck will be a 1 ton diesel work truck, similar to the truck in the photo above. (picture is an example only)

TRUCK #2:
The second truck will be a 3/4 ton diesel work truck, similar to the picture above.  The truck will be outfitted with cargo compartments, pipe racks and more. This truck will serve as the support truck for our drilling projects and the primary mode of transportation for the hand pump repair team. (picture is an example only)

LOCAL HAITIAN PASTOR DISCUSSES WATER CRISIS:
Pastor Samuel from the village Merger, in Cité Soleil, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, discusses the water crisis they faced and the benefits of clean water.  Since we completed the installation in 2016 this site has processed close to 400,000 gallons of clean water for the village.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:
"I believe developing countries are full of entrepreneurs, visionaries, and world changers.  With access to clean water, education, and effective mentorship, these talented people will play a key role in improving life, not just for themselves and the generations to follow, but for their entire country as a whole.."
