Hi everyone,

We are writing this as people who love Gemma dearly, because she would never ask for help herself.

Gemma has recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer and has begun months of intense and demanding treatment. She is facing daily radiotherapy, weekly chemotherapy, and further hospital admissions for internal brachytherapy. The treatment is already taking a heavy toll on her physically and emotionally, and she is currently unable to work while she focuses on getting through each day.

This journey has not been straightforward. Gemma has already experienced serious complications, including infections, multiple hospital stays and blood transfusions, and she continues to battle exhaustion, pain, and uncertainty about what lies ahead. Her treatment will also bring early, permanent menopause, adding to the long-term impact on her life and wellbeing.

Cancer takes so much more than health – it takes security, independence, and peace of mind. This fundraiser has been set up to help ease some of the financial pressure Gemma is facing, so she can concentrate on what truly matters: getting through treatment, recovering, and rebuilding her strength without the constant worry of how she will manage.
