Hi! We are five friends who have known each other 10+ years (some of us close to 40 years!) who also happen to have birthdays the same week (June 14th-21st.) #geminipower
These past few weeks have taught us that we must all do much, much more to fight against systemic racism in this country. So rather than getting us birthday gifts, cards, or flowers this year we would be grateful if you join us in donating to help in the fight against racism and injustice.
To get the party started, we’re throwing in $2,000 as our birthday present to ourselves, and in honor of Breonna Taylor, a fellow Gemini, who, due to racially motivated police brutality, does not get to celebrate ever again. #sayhername
And then, because we Geminis love a double, THE DONATION AMOUNT WILL BE DOUBLED by a corporate donor through June 12th thanks to https://donate2x.co/
The amount til June 12th at midnight will go to a number of established nonprofits that work to fight racism and bigotry in the justice system by advocating for civil rights litigation, working to end mass-incarceration and bail assistance. These nonprofits include the ACLU, NAACP, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Donations after June 12th will go to the ACLU.
