Kilometers for Carson
I was first introduced to the Hillier family
when Megan reached out to my wife about a
fundraiser, explaining they were raising money for their youngest of two boys who was born with stage 5 kidney disease.
I’d like to introduce you to Carson. This little
hero is only 3 1/2 years old and has undergone more surgeries and hospital visits than I have
in my thirty years. Carson was born with a
PUV, his bladder does not work causing the
kidneys to shut down. In March he will
undergo yet another surgery, this time to
insert a permanent catheter which he will
learn to void from for the rest of his life.
As Windsor hospital does not specialize in this area, Carson and his family must make weekly travels to work closely with a team in London and furthermore once this surgery takes place the family will than have to travel to sick kids
in Toronto on a weekly basis as they wait for a
kidney transplant.
In hopes to take some of the stress off the
family, I have come up with Kilometres for
Carson. On April 17th, I encourage anybody to run a half marathon with me, in Carson’s name.
I’ve set up this go fund me as a way to gather pledges. If this little hero can show courage and strength 365 days a year. We can do it for one run!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Please share their story and keep them in your thoughts.
