Dallas Woman's Club GFWC Georgia - 1921 Project

Donation protected
Our historic clubhouse was built in 1921 and has been the cornerstone of our community, a place of connection, and a testament to our shared history. The stories woven into its walls echo the dedication and selflessness of those who came before us, leaving an indelible mark on our community. But now, our clubhouse is facing a crisis. The cost of its preservation and maintenance has grown beyond our means which is why we’re asking the community to partner with us to repair our clubhouse. Preserving historic buildings owned by female nonprofits is not just about conserving bricks and mortar; it’s about safeguarding the legacy of women who shaped our history. These buildings are living monuments to the incredible contributions of women, and by protecting them, we honor their stories and inspire future generations.

The Dallas Woman’s Club, as the first library in Paulding County, holds a precious piece of our heritage and women’s history. By partnering with us, you'll become a part of our legacy and history as we work together to build a better future. Our clubhouse is more than just a physical space. It is the center of our community and our vision is to make it a hub for the greater good. We see it as a place where our club can gather to strategize and work on community service projects. Additionally, we want it to be a meeting place for other nonprofits in need of a venue. Our goal is to create a space that not only serves the needs of our community at large. We believe that by coming together in this way, we can make a positive impact and create meaningful change.

The Dallas Woman's Club is committed to preserving the historical legacy of the first library in Dallas and ensuring that it remains an important part of the community for years to come. We welcome your support in this important effort. The funds raised from this Project will be used to repair this clubhouse for our women's club to host service projects as well as a home for other small nonprofits that need a quiet place to hold their meetings and projects.

As a 501c3 public charity organization, we remain committed to preserving the historical legacy of the first library in Dallas and ensuring that it continues to be an important part of the community. The clubhouse is pending a historical designation.

About us: We are a member driven non-profit volunteer service organization made up of women of all ages who share a very simple common goal to serve our community while preserving the rich history of our club and organization.

Since 1920, our club has been actively involved in various projects that directly benefit the residents of Dallas, Georgia. Our Club offers a range of volunteer opportunities in five general areas: Arts & Culture, Environment, Education & Libraries, Civic Engagement & Outreach and Health & Wellness and our favorite, Women’s History. There is much to do within these areas in our community. One of our earliest initiatives was the creation of the first library in Dallas, which was operated by our club until 1978. We are also 1 of 10 founding organizations that established the Paulding Meadows Arts and Crafts Festival, an event that supports various organizations in our community.
