In July 2022, our lives changed suddenly when we were asked to be an emergency kinship placement for our relative’s two children. We knew it was in the boys' best interests to remain with a family member instead of being placed with a foster family, so we took a leap of faith and agreed to be their placement, not knowing anything about fostering or what our lives would look like.

Fast forward to May 2024, we were granted permanent custody. What was intended to be temporary became forever. It has been the greatest honor of our lives to be entrusted with the care of our boys. And now, we are hoping to move forward with the final step of permanency by filing for adoption!
