The Global Business Travel Association , a nonprofit trade association, is looking to raise money for our members who have been negatively impacted by Hurricane Irma.
The business travel community has a unique resiliency, and has repeatedly showcased the ability to come together and stand strong in the face of many adverse situations from terrorist attacks to natural disasters.
Now, some of our own are facing the destruction left by Hurricane Irma. Nearly 300 individuals who are members of GBTA, Tampa Bay Chapter, South Florida Chapter , Central and Northern Florida Chapter, and live in the impacted areas in Florida, the US Virgin Islands and the Carribean, need our help.
We ask the business travel industry to come together and donate in order to help our own during this time. Funds will be made available for those impacted members in need of food, medication, clothing, temporary housing, transportation to work, etc. No donation is too small.
In the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to members in the impacted area. Once we have a full picture of who needs support we will distribute funds accordingly outside of GoFundMe to the appropriate parties. Donations are not tax deductible.
