Gaza support: Wajehha needs cancer treatment
Donation protected
UPDATE:
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
With your help, we have been able to reach 50% of the funding needed to get Wajehha and her family out of Gaza so Wajehha can get the life-saving cancer treatment she in the need of.
Together with another of Izzy's friends, we have started a new go fund me in USD, which is easier for people to donate to: https://www.gofundme.com/f/6wg8gf-gaza-support-wajehha-needs-cancer-treatment
We are therefore closing this gofundme, so all efforts can go towards the other gofundme. I will keep donors for this gofundme informed.
Original text:
My name is Julie Sand, I am Danish and I lived previously in Jerusalem. I am fundraising for a dear friend in Jerusalem, Izzy, and his family in Gaza. Izzy's cousin, Wajehha, has cancer and will need treatment in Egypt. I met Izzy at a food tour in the Old City of Jerusalem and this tour turned into a beautiful friendship. He is one of my closest today and I care for him and his family deeply. I therefore hope that I and all of you can help with whatever we can to make sure Wajehha (29 years old) receive the necessary medical treatment for her cancer and for her to travel with her husband, Yaseer (35 years old), and son, Amar (9 years old).
The family of three is from Gaza City, Rimal Neighborhood, but since the war they fled as thousands of others for safety in the South. However, no place is safe in the Gaza Strip anymore. Wajehha has been a cancer patient for years and before the war she was in treatment. But there is no longer access to such medical treatments in Gaza and her condition is worsening.
We therefore need your help and support to collect fund for Wajeeha to be evacuated to Egypt and receive the necessary treatment there. Even little contribution can help her to receive the treatment she needs and improve her health situation. Her husband and son also need to to go with her so the family can stay together. Leaving Gaza is not easy, neither is suddenly to find yourself in Egypt - outside of the last 6 months horror. We are therefore aiming at covering the 5000 USD/person it costs to cross the border and a small start capital for the family to establish a temporary living situation in Egypt.
Thank you so much for you help and support
Sincerely
Bukhari family
