Gaza: Healing Hearts Fund for my family

Dear compassionate souls,

I am Moath, a doctor working at the NHS. I'm from Gaza, a place that has become synonymous with unimaginable pain and horror. My story is one of survival, loss, and an urgent plea for help.

On October 23, 2023, I received the shocking news of my house being directly bombed! Frozen for 30 minutes until I heard there might be survivors. I was shattered by the loss of my beloved family members:

• My mother, Suzan, 51 years old, a dedicated head office of a UNRWA school.
• My only sister, Marwa, 23 years old, who had just graduated to be a dentist in August.
• My sister's twin brother, Mohannad, an aspiring IT engineer.
• My youngest and most beloved brother, Murad, just 10 years old.
• My grandparents, Mahmoud; 88 years old, and Fayqa; 78 years old.
• Three cousins; Ameer; 22, Ahlam; 18, and Islam; 16.

Lives extinguished in a matter of seconds, leaving only memories and an enduring pain.

Fortunately, two of my brothers survived, Mohammed, a 26-year-old civil engineer, and Mahmoud, a 17-year-old student with a long life ahead of him. They were miraculously fine. However, my beloved father, Ahmed, a 56-year-old civil engineer, sustained severe injuries, including a fractured lower spine. Displaced multiple times to Khan Younis and now in Deir El-Balah, they are now homeless, suffering hunger, thirst, fear, and a lack of medical care. Cut off from electricity and the internet since the beginning of this mad war, I can only contact them every other week to know they are still alive. The nightmare continues, and I feel helpless, fearing I may lose those I have left to live for, with each passing day bringing the possibility of another bombing.

This is where I turn to you, my global community, with a plea for help and a glimmer of hope. I'm initiating a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to evacuate them from this heart-wrenching aggression that has destroyed Gaza. My goal is to secure means to relocate them to a safer place, far from the immediate danger that surrounds them and in order for my father to get further medical treatment and my little brother to complete his high school. Then hopefully, bring them to live with me in the UK.

Your support means more than just financial assistance; it signifies solidarity, compassion, and a shared commitment to preserving human lives. Together, we can make a difference and offer my family a chance to rebuild our lives and our dreams.

Every donation, no matter the size, will contribute to their journey to safety. Share my story, amplify my plea, and stand with me as we navigate through the darkest days of our lives.

I, Moath, am based in Leicester, UK, and recently started working at the NHS. Your help means everything to us and any donations contribute towards this immense cost.

Thank you for being a beacon of hope in our darkest hour.

With gratitude,
Moath and the entire surviving family from Gaza

This GoFundMe is run by myself, and your donations contribute to the immense cost of my little brother’s and injured father evacuation to a place where he can be treated. This will cost in ~15k ( ambulance, transport, permissions to leave Gaza, accommodation + hospital fees abroad ) and basic life maintenance costs. Please consider including a call-to-action and share the campaign on your social media.
