6/14/2021 update
Hello again everyone! First of all, thank you again to everyone who has helped Gavin along his journey thus far. There aren't enough words to describe how much each and every one of you mean to us for everything you have done, and continue you to do for Gavin's progress.

As many of you may already know, Gavin is scheduled to begin his physical therapy at Barwis in Florida at the end of June. We are so incredibly excited to start his much-needed rehab, and this is all thanks to everyone who has donated, participated in raffles, spread the word, and so much more, so again we are so incredibly grateful for all of you.

We also wanted to update this GoFundMe page because many people have asked if it is still active and it is! We raised enough funds to begin Gav's therapy, but it will be a long road (and expensive one) so we will keep this open for anyone who prefers to donate through this site. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to anyone in the family via email, or Gavin's facebook page created to keep everyone updated of his progress.

We will be holding a Jambalaya dinner fundraiser that will be lots of fun for the whole family, so if you can, please come out, have a great time, and help send of Gavin to Barwis! It will be held at "The Old Building" in Berwick on June 19th. For more information, please visit the Facebook page!

And again, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! You will never understand how much you all mean to Gavin and the entire family. We love you! And God bless!

--------------------

Hey guys! Many people have asked how they can help Gavin and the family, and in the beginning we asked for everyone's prayers and while we still need them, and are so grateful for everyone who is continuing to pray, we know there is another way we can all help Gavin, and that's by helping him get the medical care and physical therapy he needs to progress. The family did not ask for this help, but we asked if we could help them (and I even got permission from Gavin himself and in his words, "Yep. I'll need it.")

How this all began:
On Tuesday, May 12th, Gavin was hanging out with some of his friends and cousins and was involved in a seemingly harmless pool accident. Upon removing Gavin from the pool, it was discovered that he was not breathing, and once CPR was performed by some great friends of Gavin, and with the help of his guardian angels, Gavin regained consciousness and it was determined that he did not have the full feeling in his body that he did prior to the accident. Gavin was immediately air-medded to Our Lady of The Lake Regional Medical Center’s Trauma-Neuro Critical Care unit where he shortly went through a batter of test where it was determined that he had broken his C-5 and C-6 vertebrae in his neck. Swelling of his spinal cord had already began, so doctors/nurses/hospital staff moved quickly to get him into surgery to secure and repair his spine.
As of today (Sunday, May 17th) feeling below his neck comes and goes, but because of the swelling of the spinal cord, there is no real knowing of what he can/cannot feel at this time. This is why prayers are abundantly important for Gavin, and his family and friends.
Gavin is still in the ICU/TNCC at OLOL, but eventually will be moved to an inpatient rehabbing facility to begin physical therapy there. This will be a long and difficult journey, but we know that Gavin can overcome it all with the love and support from us all!

Again, we are SO SO thankful for everyone who has reached out, and if you'd like to help out, feel free to do so however you possibly can. Thank you, so so so much for all of the love, prayers, and donations. <3 We will never be able to describe how grateful we are for our amazing community.
