Gaurdianship for kristofer

Hi my name jennifer and i am kristofers mother.. Kristofer has a rare genectic disorder called hunter syndrome and is terminal.. He is disabled physically and mentally!! He is also about to turn 18 which means I Have to gain guardianship of him. I was really hoping to do this process on my own however I am finding that it is extremely difficult to do without a lawyer so I decided to reach out to see if i could get some help to hire a lawyer to help us in this very overwhelming task.
