Gathr by the River Placemaking Project

Tax deductible

Dear Friends of Ipswich,

We are excited to reintroduce the Ipswich Partnership, a non-profit first founded in 1995 to revitalize the social and economic development of Ipswich.

Today, the founding Partnership passes the torch on to a new generation of Ipswich residents and business owners in reconstituting the organization. We're excited to share our revamped mission and vision moving into 2022!

The Partnership is excited to announce the approval of a grant ($47,400) for a new community space for the public to enjoy in downtown Ipswich. This project will also include a pathway that connects Market Street to the current termination point of the Downtown Riverwalk.

In order for this grant to move forward, we need to raise matching donations from residents in our town. Please help us reach out crowdfunding goal of $47,400 so we can secure our matching funds. Any amount donated will go a long way, and your support and participation mean so much to us!

The Ipswich Partnership's GATHR BY THE RIVER Placemaking Project will create a public outdoor community space in the heart of downtown Ipswich that will:

1) Host expanded activities and programming currently provided within Gathr's interior space at 42 Market Street. (examples include, but not limited to: film screenings, concerts, Ipswich Highschool Open Mic Nights, educational & literary programming, mindfit meditations, North Shore Kids Clothing Swaps, Arts & Crafts with local business owners, art auctions, etc.)

2) Provide a landscaped "living room" in front of 40-42 Market Street that provides seating for patrons and a more formal setting for regular musical performances by local musicians.

3) Create an inviting landscaped space at the rear of 42 Market Street that will serve as the entrance to the extended downtown Ipswich Riverwalk, including outdoor furniture, benches, and stage area.

4) Replace an unused asphalted space with a "community game room" that will feature game tables and a silent disco system.

5) Provide free wi-fi for the public utilizing this outdoor space for various activities, functions and leisure.

This project aims to create a public space for residents and local businesses to come together for daily interaction and engagement that improves our town's economic and social development.
