Hello everyone,

We have had the pleasure of getting to know Charlene Gates through church. We are raising money to support her and her family as they recover physically and financially from a serious car accident. Their story is as follows:

On February 20th, 2022 my husband and I were injured in a car accident that we did not cause.

We were t-boned by another driver as we were just driving down the road after he had picked

me up from work. That Sunday instantly changed our entire life. Due to sustained injuries

and the complexity of trying to heal, we are now left over a year post accident in probably one of

the most difficult and trying times of our lives.

My husband is not able to work due to the injuries from the accident and is currently awaiting

the determination for social security, as we are not certain when he will be able or if he will be

able to work again. I was able to return to work after about 3 months, however I am not

working many hours since I am still attending different therapies as a result of the accident trauma.

There was a 6 month gap where we were unable to pay our bills, and several medical bills are also not being covered by insurance. We have been trying our best to catch up, but many bills for necessities have increased, adding additional challenges to catching up.

We are in desperate financial need to pay off the car that we are currently financing so we can

get out of this interest rate soon as possible. We are paying $28k for a car that is worth $17k which

results in a $705 monthly payment. Recently, the car insurance also increased to $600 a

month. We are just not able to keep ahead with that as our basic essential bills are adding up

to $3665 a month without food, petcare, prescriptions, medical bills, and any upkeep that is

needed.
