Hello everyone, my name is Alesha Green. My co-organizer, Primrose Morgan, and I were born in Jamaica and have several family members on the island which has a special place in our hearts.
On October 28, 2025, a powerful Category 5 storm, Hurricane Melissa, dubbed the "storm of the century” made landfall in southwestern Jamaica, bringing death and devastation to several communities. The parishes of St. Elizabeth and Manchester, where we have family members, were in the direct path of Melissa and are two of the hardest hit areas. Numerous homes and businesses were destroyed. People are in desperate need of assistance. Many have not just lost their homes but their livelihoods and are traumatized by the experience. With this GoFundMe, we seek to bring some dignity to those affected by helping them to rebuild their lives. With your help, aid will be personally delivered to those who need it. Every dollar donated will be used to assist the most vulnerable in St. Elizabeth and South Manchester. Our focus is to secure essentials for those affected, including, but not limited to: Non-perishable food, Bottled water, Hygiene products and toiletries, Diapers and other baby supplies, Cleaning supplies, Health kits, Blankets, sheets and towels, Gloves, Generators, Power banks, Money for utility bills and medication.
We greatly appreciate your assistance in this effort. Thank you.
