This morning, our friend Gary experienced a devastating house fire that destroyed his home in Donalda, Alberta.

Gary is a senior living in a very rural, off-grid area, and tragically, he did not have insurance. In a matter of hours, he lost everything — his home, his belongings, and the basic necessities we all rely on every day.

Donalda is a small, remote community with no local stores or services, which makes this situation even more challenging. Access to essentials like food and clothing requires travel, planning, and support — things that are incredibly difficult in a crisis like this.

Right now, Gary needs immediate help with:

• Basic living needs Including water for his well and a power source for the pump so water is available for himself and his cattle

• Clothing and personal essentials

• Food and day-to-day necessities

• Supplies and materials to eventually rebuild a modest home

Gary is a private, independent person who has always lived simply and taken care of himself. This is an incredibly difficult situation, and he would not ask for help on his own — which is why we are coming together as friends and community to support him during this time.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Gary get back on his feet and begin rebuilding his life.
