Friday July 5th, 2019 started like any other day for Heidi and Garrett, little did they know it would end very differently then expected. That afternoon Heidi started getting some pains and her motherly instinct told her something wasn't right. Only being 25 weeks along they decided to head to Methodist and be seen by her doctor. When they arrived they found out she was having contractions and starting to dilate. Soon after her water broke and they had to go for an emergency csection. Piercely Mae was born at 11:07 PM weighing 1lb 8oz. One minute later her brother Hoyt David arrived weighing 1lb 15oz. The amazing doctors and nurses stabilized them and they were taken to the NICU. The doctors have told them these first 72 hours will be the most critical. These babies have already shown how strong and resilient they are. They have received nicknames by the doctors as "Rockstar and Fire Cracker." They know that this will be a long road and is estimated they'll be in the NICU for 15 weeks. During this time Heidi and Garrett are going to have extra lodging, food, gas, and medical cost.
