Gambia Relief: Charity Trip for Food Packs

I Yusuf Hans will be traveling with Noor Aid to The Gambia on a charity trip this December 18th to personally distribute food packs and income generation items to families in need. Your generous contributions will make a tangible difference in the lives of those struggling with extreme poverty.

100% of your donation will go to the recipient. I am paying for my own trip.

Our goal is to raise £3000 to sponsor food packs for 3 villages and find 5 sponsors.

Gambia is one of the world's poorest countries, where many survive on rice every day, and chicken is a rare treat enjoyed only once or twice a year.

Here are some stark realities:

• 17.65% of the population lives on less than £1.65 per day.

• 46.97% earn less than £2.80 per day.

• 80.06% live on less than £5.25 per day.

For just £15, you can provide a food pack containing 10kg of rice, 2kg of sugar, and 1 litre of oil—offering much-needed nourishment and hope. Each food pack lasts about two weeks.

In addition to food packs, we aim to empower families with income-generating items:

• Sewing Machine: £130 - This will help individuals start or expand a tailoring business, providing them with a sustainable source of income.

• Tile Cutting Machine: £35 - This affordable tool will enable people to take on tiling jobs, increasing their employment opportunities.

• Wheel Barrow: £30 - A practical tool for various types of work, from construction to agriculture, boosting productivity and income.

Every £1000 will enable me to sponsor food packs for one village, providing 70 food packs to those in need from your donations.

You can also sponsor a child for £10 a month, which includes boarding and memorising the Quran (Hafiz).

I'll be sharing pictures of the sponsored village while in Gambia to show the impact of your donations, including pictures of myself hand-delivering the food packs and income-generating items to the recipients. You will get to see where your money is spent instantly. Sponsors will receive yearly reports detailing the progress being made in school.
