For several years, Galway City Gym has opened on Christmas Day, and members have contributed a minimum €10 each, which has then been used to support a local cause.

This Christmas, we wish to support our friend Harry.

Harry has been treated for cancer, undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and recently had an above-elbow amputation of his right arm. Throughout every stage of treatment, Harry has never complained — no self-pity, no “why me” — and has faced each setback with calm and even humour. He is an outstanding example of resilience in the face of illness and misfortune.

While Harry has faced this journey with incredible strength, regular travel to and from Dublin, medical appointments, and the unseen costs involved — including the adaptations required following the loss of a limb — can be very expensive.

All funds raised will go directly to Harry to help with these costs.
