Gallegos Torres Family COVID-19 Fundraiser

A good friend, Sara Gallegos (more like a sister) who I have known since I was six years old has tested positive for COVID-19. She has been hospitalized and on life support for a couple of weeks now. We had hoped she would be okay because she was stable, but unfortunately things are starting to look more critical as of today 5/14/20. Sara is a nurse at a nursing home where her husband also works. Sara was solely handing all of the expenses for their household, so we are having some trouble managing expenses without her access information and coming up with financial resources. Her husband can't go back to work because their household has been exposed to COVID-19. Even when/if he is cleared, there is an outbreak at the nursing home where they work so he is without a job for the time being. They have two school aged girls at the home who all of us are unable to see because of the exposure. They need help with funding in any amount to feed them and pay the important bills to keep their house expenses afloat. Help is needed immediately and most likely through the end of the year because of Sara's uncertain state and the effect this has had on them financially. Sara and I grew up together and have so many memories. I can honestly say she is one of the most kind hearted and compassionate people I know. Her family and friends are going through a tremendous amount of agony. These times make it even harder because we can't be there with her, by her side..all we can do is hope and pray. Please pray for her and her family. We would be so ever grateful for any monetary donation that your heart leads you to give. UPDATE: 6/10/20: Hello to our wonderful family, friends and supporters: We firstly would like to thank everyone for their support through prayers and for the assistance in meeting our original fundraising goals. We feel so blessed and we are so very grateful for each and every one of you! The good news is Sara is on the road to recovery! In lieu of new medical bills and old past due bills resulting from this incident we have made the decision to extend our fundraiser amount. We wanted to give you the reasoning behind it: The house expenses have accumulated a lot of penalties and late fees with added expenses. We just couldn't analyze all of Sara's accounts and get in touch with each bill payer quick enough to prevent automatic debits or non payments from occurring. This was due to trying to figure out access to all of her accounts and figure out the billing structures of the payments. We are still working through the bill payers who won't give any of us access to anything because we aren't Sara (absurd I know).  Secondly, it took the first fundraiser withdrawal a long delayed amount of time to get to us so we didn't have access to take care of what was needed until just very recently. The third huge part is Sara's recovery expenses and medical bills now that she is recovering. And even though she is recovering we still have a long road ahead of us and she will be needing our assistance. Mike has been working very hard at home to try and bring in what he can while he continues his job search to change jobs because of the outbreak at their job facility.  As I originally stated in the fundraiser story, this family will be in need for the rest of the year because of the severity of the situation and the lingering financial strain.  Any questions for Samantha or myself please don't hesitate to ask!
