Gallaghers Glasgow Kilt Walk 2025

Most people that have taken the time to read this will know who I am and how much I like to shout from the rooftops about how incredible Firefly Cancer Awareness and Support are... But it's been far too long since I've done anything to raise some much needed funds for such an incredible cause so here we are!!

As I now work for a company based North of the border, I've roped in my amazing colleagues at Gallaghers to take on the Glasgow Kilt Walk 2025.

Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 178,000 people taking part since 2016. To date there has been a staggering £49.6 million raised for Scottish based charities so it seemed about time to add a Yorkshire charity to that list!

On Saturday 26 April 2025 me and my amazing colleagues will be taking on the Big Stroll..a 15 mile walk from Clydebank and finishing in beautiful Balloch, Loch Lomond.

Most people will know of my long standing affiliation with Firefly Cancer Awareness and Support given my use of the service in 2017 for Radiotherapy treatment.

For those North of the border that don't know what Firefly are about, they provide free transport to the people in the borough of Doncaster who require cancer treatment in Sheffield. They are a non profit charity which means every penny raised through fundraising events such as this goes directly back in to keeping their fleet of vehicles on the road.

The work they do is nothing short of incredible and the help and support they provide at such a difficult time is hard to put in to words. They take away all the stress and financial implications involved when undergoing treatment and this simply cannot be underestimated. Anything people are able to donate, no matter how small will make a difference so please dig deep people and thanks in advance for your support x
