Gabriel's Health and Welfare (and momma too!)

Donation protected

Friends, supporters, prayer warriors,
Meghan and I have trudged diligently through an extremely difficult pregnancy, wherein Meghan endured a 75 day hospital stay on bedrest, I continued working fulltime, and our son, baby Gabriel, defied all the odds and medical statistics and stubbornly kept growing, kicking and living, within a womb that could no longer hold water for him. We each performed the role we were given as best we could!

Upon his birth, it was clear the struggle was not over. His lungs were ten weeks behind, abnormalities of the jaw caused a struggle to intubate him, his limbs were stiff and his feet and hands were bent at gut wrenching angles.

5 weeks after birth he is being discharged on oxygen, a nasogastric feeding tube, oximeter, and hospital grade suction device to clear his airways of secretions that make it impossible for him to breathe.

Meghan and I are determined to do everything we can to make sure little Gabriel will be able to flourish. We are currently applying to public assistance programs, but it is a laborious and slow process. The chances of Gabriel being accepted into a program that would significantly improve our situation are slim. In the best case scenario we will still have a 1-2 month gap where our jobs will demand both Meghan and I return to work or take an unpaid leave of absence.

Gabriel will need round the clock monitoring and tending to as well as multiple doctors and hospital visits per week to begin to address the conditions that he has. Meghan is currently overcoming a complicated bout of sepsis, leaving her very weak and tired. Her recovery will be slow. While we could certainly decimate our 401k's to provide for what Gabriel needs, we know that there is an army of support just waiting for us to ask for help. So we ask you now. Now that we have a better idea of what we are up against and what we will really need help with. "Gondor calls for aid!"

Below I have outlined how any gifts would be used:

Any gifts will be used to defray medical costs, afford in home healthcare assistance for both Gabriel and Meghan, hire hourly childcare assistance to enable a smooth transition back to work (thus maintaining future financial stability after this storm has passed!), pay for any accounting needs for this GoFundMe, and remaining funds will be used to support Gabriel's health, well-being, educational and developmental needs moving forward.

We know that God is still performing miracles in this day and age, and in our lives. Meghan and I strongly believe that God often shows his love through other people, if only we will accept it.

We thank you for any financial support you can offer and we thank you for the beauty of such outpourings of prayer and love, that literally spans the entire globe. God bless each and every one of you!
