On Friday, April 25th, 2025, only days before their daughter's 8th birthday, Gabrielle's husband fell over 35 feet after the anchor point for his safety device failed to secure him to the wall he was working on. Thankfully, firefighters were able to attend to him within minutes and his head, neck and spine were all intact. He did unfortunately break his pelvis, hip and femur and will not be fully back to 100% for at least a year, if ever. They do consider themselves extremely lucky, as it could have been much worse. However, this has changed their lives drastically.

Gabi is now the sole caretaker for their daughter and husband, as he is very limited in movement. This is in addition to still trying to work full time and parent their daughter.

They will be moving closer to family for support and to give him more space to heal, among other adjustments to their daily life as they transition to their new normal. Any funds donated will be used to get them resettled and prepared for this new chapter.
