Gabes Journey for Cystic Fibrosis

My Husband Gabe has taken it upon his heart to take his paddle board racing to new and meaningful levels.

After leaving a career with Nascar, he has decided to use his competitive drive and Marine Corp spirit to push through and help find a cure for Cyctic fibrosis.

your donation will get him there and cheer him across the finish line! He will be joining a stand up paddle board race across the OCEAN from the Bahamas to Miami!! 80 miles in one day!

After a 17 year career in NASCAR as a mechanic and pit crew member, I decided to leave the sport in 2019. I still had a desire to push myself physically and compete.

In May of '21 I borrowed a friend's paddleboard to try it out on Lake Norman and instantly fell in love with being on the water and how fulfilling and physically demanding it was. I paddled daily, pushing myself to go further.

I decided to paddle 16 miles around the Pointe on Lake Norman in June. Soon after I learned about The Crossing for CF and I immediately knew what my next goal was. A father doing whatever it takes to help his daughter is a very touching story. I wanted to do my part by helping someone in need. It was time to paddle for a purpose.

Since then I have competed in several events on Lake Wylie. I've also paddled the length of Lake Norman, 30 miles. In January I plan on paddling 76 miles on the lake in preparation for The Crossing this June. My training also includes paddling every other day, weight lifting, hot yoga, pilates, running & hiking.
