GABE ALCOCER'S EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT- HELP THE VETS

Hello: My name is Gabriel M. Alcocer and I am currently a Life Scout in Burbank Troop 210. I am working on my Eagle Scout Project which is my final step towards achieving Eagle Scout Rank, the highest rank in scouting.

For my Community Service Project, I am partnering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burbank Post, USS Gudgeon Ship 8310. I will help renovate and repaint the meeting halls, install an outdoor mini library, and repaint the exterior parking lot concrete blocks, all of which are used by and benefit the local community and the VFW. Founded in 1899, the VFW is a Non-Profit service organization that helps America’s Veterans and no one does more for America’s Vets than the VFW.

To accomplish the above, I am organizing and leading the work project in early March 2023 involving over 30 Scouts and Adults, working over a four week period, involving approximately 400 work hours and an expenditure of approximately $1000 in painting materials, hardware, tools and supplies, and $500 fund-raising donation to the VFW.
