Our mother, Diana Jones, is strong, caring, giving. She is also kind toward others, but rarely turns that kindness on herself. In the past month, she has spent time in the hospital twice. Medical bills are arriving in the mail; meanwhile, her couch and mattress are worn out and over 10 years old. She desperately needs to replace them and her recent hospital visits make it more pressing to upgrade her furniture.

New reclining couch: $2,000

Mom is retaining fluid, especially in her legs. Upgrading to a reclining sofa would help elevate her legs to reduce fluid retention. The current couch cushions are extremely worn as well due to age.

New high-quality mattress: $3,000

Her aged mattress is uncomfortable and she cannot lay on her left side because of a torn rotator cuff. Replacing it with a high-quality mattress would allow her to get a better night's rest and she could sleep on her left side.
