Help us save our family home

Our family struggles started about 8 years ago when our grandfather, Papa, was diagnosed with lung cancer. The news was absolutely devastating, sending shockwaves through our entire family, and the following 3 year battle forced us to make many sacrifices. Despite the financial hardship it would create, Papa's oldest daughter, Krisy, left her job to become his caretaker, and as his health deteriorated, he made the difficult decision to take out a reverse mortgage on the family home in order to secure an easier future for his wife, our beloved Gramma. After Papa passed away in October 2019, his decision allowed Gramma to live the rest of her life in her own home without having to worry about mortgage payments, and Krisy maintained her role as caretaker for her mother even after her husband suddenly and tragically passed away in July 2020.

Gramma passed away unexpectedly on September 14th, our third loss in 5 years. Now, we're facing a critical moment: we have a short window to pay the outstanding mortgage balance, or our family home of 44 years will be sold, leaving 3 relatives, including Krisy, without a home. We're reaching out to keep this house, a place filled with love and memories and a sense of belonging, a place where every member of our extended family has been welcomed in times of joy and struggle and tragedy, a place which carries the spirits of those we've lost, in the hands of the people who cherish it.
