Men's Mental Health Matters

Donation protected
Hello.

My name is Caitlin and recently my daughters fiancee went missing. He was dealing with hardships that many men, fathers, business owners will go through in life.

** he has asked to keep his name and picture out of it to get back to a place of normalcy. Actually he asked me to take it down; this is our compromise**

Our society puts a lot of pressure on our men to keep it together, provide for their families and ignore their emotions. Now more than ever we are finding the detrimental affects of men's mental health on our young and old alike.
The community rallied together and we got him home. An ending that I understand not everyone gets. It was very very close to not being a happy ending.
He is not one to ask for help; financially, emotionally, mentally but the community that came together has asked me to set this up to show him how much he is loved and cared about.

A little about the man your helping:

He is a 27 year old new business owner. He has a fiancee and two children he shares with the beautiful mother of his children. They have been able to co parent outside of court which just shows you the man he is. He started building his company 2 years ago and it is still thriving. He has many employees that count on him for their wages and many clients that rely on him for his amazing work and kind and humble attitude. And finally he is loved. By his parents, siblings, cousins. He was welcomed immediately into our family and pretty well anybody who has come in contact with him for over 5 minutes. When CRA froze his business & personal accounts he was crushed. He thought everything he had worked so hard for; all of his sacrifices to his social life, relationships, etc getting his general contracting business to where it is today, was just gone. In one second he went from being on top of the world to $40K in debt. While yes a lot was past mistakes and we will end up getting some of that back once jumping through CRAs hoops, however I cannot imagine the toll it took; and he could not see that through the despair.
Since being home, he has taken a step back to focus on himself and be around his family snd friends and get his head in the right place. Of course with that comes unpayable expenses. His fiancee (my daughter) works very hard but has also taken a step back to be there to support the man she loves.
The community has asked me to put this together to show their support for this almost not so happy ending.

Where will your money go? What will it be used for?

- Mostly to help him and his family be able to sit back heal and recoup some of the costs incurred over the last few days/weeks (depending when you're reading)
- mental health help; as we all are aware therapy is expensive - something well outside their means - this will help him be able to get some sessions in with a licensed therapist to learn new coping skills when life gets lifey
- day to day expenses- while both kids aren't working life goes on, bills need to be paid
- anything left over will be put in a trust for his kids - his entire world

Please note that he has nothing to do with this go fund me. In fact he is very against it. But that comes down to men not feeling worthy of the help and wanting to figure it out by themselves.

Having a lot of money can be triggering for some so i have decided to put my daughter as the trustee over the money as she knows the best what he needs. It takes a village!

Just because someone else has it worse doesnt mean your trauma and experiences are less than.

It takes 8 minutes of talking to a friend to not feel alone, please anyone going through something ... ask for your 8 minutes; everyone has 8 minutes they can give you and its not too scary asking for 8 little minutes.

Hug the ones you love and hold on tight, you never know what tomorrow brings.

God bless.

Words of encouragement are desired more than any donations. Let's show this kid how many people are rooting for him!
