EmpowHer Austin High Girls!

EmpowHER started with one simple idea: women in our community deserve to feel seen, supported, and strong.
As a group of high school students, we knew we couldn’t fix every problem women face — but we could do something. We learned about the challenges many women still experience every day: the gender pay gap, underrepresentation in leadership, barriers to education, and limited access to safe spaces. It wasn’t just a global issue. It was happening here in Austin, too.
That’s why we created EmpowHER — a project focused on taking real, local action to empower women.
We volunteered at a women’s shelter, created care packages with personal items and handwritten notes, and launched awareness campaigns at our school. Whether it was a thank-you card for a staff member or a social media post highlighting an inspiring woman, we wanted every part of our project to make someone feel valued.
But EmpowHER is more than just one project. It’s a mindset. A reminder that no action is too small when it comes to uplifting others. That when we stand together, advocate for equality, and support the women around us — we’re building a better future for everyone.
We’re proud of what we’ve started. And we hope it inspires others to keep going.
